WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders Rising & Empowering Political Action Committee (ASPIRE PAC) today announced the endorsements of Ammar Campa-Najjar, running in California’s 48th Congressional District against Republican Darrell Issa; Pia Dandiya, running in Florida’s 21st Congressional District against Republican Brian Mast; and Rep. Valerie Foushee, who is running for re-election in North Carolina’s fourth Congressional District.
ASPIRE PAC Chair Marilyn Strickland issued the following statements:
“From his time in the Obama administration, to his military service, and educating the next generation, Ammar Campa-Najjar has dedicated his life to serving others. His opponent, Republican Darrell Issa, has only served himself—casting the deciding vote to rip health care away from 32,000 of his constituents to give tax breaks to his billionaire donors. Ammar is the one we can trust to stand up to special interests and put working people first.”
“Pia has dedicated her career to turning the promise of the American Dream into a reality for working families. She founded a school at just 28 years old to change the life trajectories of underserved students and led public sector initiatives to expand opportunities for children statewide. With a district that mirrors the registration composition of Miami-Dade—where voters just delivered a decisive Democratic victory—Pia has the proven leadership and vision needed to win and to deliver for FL-21.”
“Since taking office, Valerie Foushee has been a steadfast champion for the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community. She has consistently worked to uplift AANHPI voices in North Carolina and stood by their side. At a time when our democracy is under attack, Valerie Foushee will stand up to extremism and protect our communities. ASPIRE PAC is proud to endorse Rep. Foushee for re-election.”
