SANJYOT DUNUNG

IL-08

Sanjyot Dunung is running for Congress in Illinois’s 8th Congressional District. Sanjyot is a pragmatic workhorse who has spent her life rolling up her sleeves and collaborating with people from all backgrounds to solve tough problems.

Raised in Des Plaines, the daughter of Indian immigrants, Sanjyot Dunung built a career as an award-winning entrepreneur and small business owner, all of which instilled in her the values of hard work, community, service, and a deep pride in the promise of America. Sanjyot is also a proud mother of three sons and a patriotic military family.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Small Business Association, the Truman Center for National Policy, and the American Leadership Project. Sanjyot previously served on President Biden’s Foreign Policy Working Group focused on international trade and on the Board of Directors for UNICEF USA. She is the mother of three sons and a proud member of a patriotic military family.

Sanjyot  is motivated to run now because of her frustration with the lack of common sense problem-solving in our government. Rather than recklessly cutting the critical programs our families depend on, Sanjyot believes we should reimagine how government can function more effectively to meet the needs of its people dynamically and efficiently for the 21st century. Throughout her career, Sanjyot has challenged outdated assumptions, developed new solutions, and managed businesses through transformational change, serving as a business champion and creating jobs.

Like many others, she is focused on reducing the cost of living, advocating for comprehensive immigration reform, and de-escalating the culture wars. Now more than ever, she believes it is essential to preserve the guardrails of democracy. She is committed to actively working to introduce commonsense policies that will help create a brighter future for all Americans—a future where daily life is more affordable, safer, and healthier. This future will be built on a foundation of freedom, mutual respect, fairness, shared values, and investments in long-term opportunities and needs.

Sanjyot is committed to ensuring that  all Americans have the fundamental Freedoms, Opportunities, Dignity, and Security envisioned by our founding fathers.
