WASHINGTON, DC – Today, ASPIRE PAC announced its endorsement of State Assemblymember Evan Low, who is running for Congress in California’s 16th Congressional District. Low has served in the California Assembly since 2014 and is the current Chair of the California Asian American & Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus. California’s 16th Congressional has an AANHPI community of 29.76%, the eighth highest in the country, and Low would be the first AANHPI member to represent the district in Congress. ASPIRE PAC Chair Grace Meng released the following statement:
“Evan Low is a devoted public servant who has proven time and again to be a champion for the AANHPI community. He has been a leader on job creation, LGBTQ rights, and housing affordability. Evan is also a consensus builder and incredibly effective legislator, at one point having more bills signed into law than any other member of the state legislature. Evan has already made history as one of the youngest AANHPI Mayors elected in the country and as the youngest AANHPI legislator elected to the California Assembly. We look forward to him making history again as the first AANHPI representative to serve California’s 16th District in Congress, and ASPIRE is excited to strongly endorse his campaign.”
