ASPIRE Issues Statement on Joe Biden Selecting Kamala Harris as His Running Mate

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, ASPIRE, the political arm of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Members of Congress, commended Joe Biden for selecting Senator Kamala Harris as his Vice Presidential running mate.

“I applaud Joe Biden for his outstanding choice and congratulate Kamala Harris on this well-deserved honor,” said Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY), Chair of ASPIRE. “She is an outstanding leader and fighter who will stand-up for the American people, and she’ll help Joe Biden bring back integrity to the White House. I am also thrilled that Kamala Harris will be the next and first Asian American and Black American woman Vice President. Senator Harris embraces the wonderful diversity that exists in our country and understands the issues that impact Asian Americans. I am confident that she will be a strong ally of the AAPI community. I look forward to working with her and our next President Joe Biden to improve the lives of AAPIs, and to help our great nation grow and thrive, particularly at this challenging time.
