ASPIRE PAC is the new name of the CAPAC Leadership PAC. ASPIRE PAC stands for ASian Americans & Pacific Islanders Rising & Empowering Political Action Committee. The ASPIRE PAC is a federal political action committee focused on supporting candidates of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) descent and those that support and promote the issues of the AAPI community. The ASPIRE PAC offers a voice for the AAPI community and encourages active participation in the U.S. political process.
Launched in late 2011 by Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-27), the PAC welcomed six new AAPI Members of Congress in 2012, including a U.S. Senator. In 2014, the PAC welcomed two new AAPI Members. Today, there are 13 AAPI Members of Congress.
Now under the leadership of Congresswoman Grace Meng (NY-06), the PAC hopes to repeat its success in 2016. The PAC has endorsed and supported many exciting new candidates, including its first presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton.
